HAPPY CLEM

Happy Clem..( where Do I start with this one ? ) I'ts kind of a comic / sketch / doodle..but it's defiantly a work in progress ( as the last pages will show, if I bother putting the up! )
Clem started as a doodle concerning a otherworld inhabited by almost dead beings....and some-how blossomed into a quasi-psyic action romance...there's 12 pages in all and the finish is a killer... shall I show more?

holy moley!

Thanks to an avid researcher ( nice work micheal ) the miricle of lactation finally gets to be seen...( nice shot ! kind of reminds me of the funfair when you have to shoot the water pistol into the clowns mouth........ is this where they got the idear?) I hope some one at the vatican can clear this up for me..

Something from the psudeo religious work, inspired by the stained glass window tradition and reding thru my copy of "Halls Dictionary of Subjects & Symbols in Art (don't ask me how I got it )...I was amazed at the stuff these folks got up to....for instance Bernard (of Clairvaux ) is sometimes depicted in two themes of devotional images ...the second is Most interesting.."the miracle of Lactation" Bernard is kneeling in front of the Virgin who is ( wait for it ) pressing her breast from which milk spurts symbolically wetting the the lips of the saint...Hmmm..I'm trying to track down a church that has that on it's window..I'm aware that it's all to do with benevolence and mercy (both of which I agree with ) and I'm not taking the piss.. but still.....
Saint jethrow is well... a little tounge in cheek..I've been be-set by a zealot or two over the themes..they seem to take offence....

Toupe or not toupe?

There's a wonderfull thing about doodling, you never know what may come of it..This started as an excercise and I enjoyed the lines so much i went ahead and slapped some paint down on top. I was a lot rougher than I usually would have been ( I'm a cautious fellow) I like an even blended colour graduation..but the line work suggested some thing a little more manic....what fun I had..

A big thanks to Michael Clarke for setting this all up for me and giving me a push..This blog is a chance for me to show my work and try to explain some of them ( some need explaining) to show where they came from and air my veiws on art , cofee consumption and ...well life in general.This is all new to me so if I ramble or reapeat myself be kind ( I'm a painter not a writer )
